New Way to Nap

Lia has a new way to nap now. This is how I found her yesterday...

and I couldn't resist a shot of her cute little feet....

We have been busy the past few weeks and are getting ready for Lia's first Christmas. So, part of that was to go down and visit the big guy himself... Santa. Lia didn't seem too phased by it all and seemed pretty comfortable with her new friend.

Afterwards, we went to the food court and hung out with some of Lia's friends.

Noah is growing up so fast...

and Haley was really ready for her bottle after seeing Santa....

After lunch we took a ride on the carousel courtesy of the the big guy himself. Lia enjoyed it, but I got a *little* dizzy.

Tuesday

Lia's back at daycare this morning and I thought I would post a picture before I got to work. The Dermabond came off and her scar is a little line that curves just over her eyebrow.

There is still some inflammation where the cyst was, but all in all it looks really good.

Latest News

Lia is doing really well following the surgery last Monday. We are trying to get back into the rhythm of things and I am very excited that that also means she will be in daycare starting tomorrow.

Anyway, I thought I would send you some pictures of the little patient.
The swelling has even gone down more than this and the dermabond loosened up and come off today. I will try and get a shot of that this afternoon.

For now....

And here is a little time playing (ok, trying to eat actually) the leaves.

No More Q-Tip Head

I got to take my bandages off this afternoon and look at me now. I'm a little swollen, but overall I feel pretty good. I took a few naps today, and wanted my Mommy to hold me most of the time. I just felt better with her close.

Mommy took a picture of me 24 hours after surgery and here it is... what do you think?

My Surgery

Today was the day Mommy and Daddy have been anxiously awaiting. This morning they only fed me pedialyte and apple juice (that was YUMMY!) in preparation for our trip to Scottish Rite. I didn't mind though and played and smiled all morning long... I just wanted them to know that it was ok.

We went to the hospital and were taken back to the pre-op area really quickly. The procedure was scheduled for 3pm, but they ended up getting everything ready for me early so I went back at 2pm. Mommy and Daddy gave me a big kiss and let the nurse take me back to the OR... what happened in there is my little secret!

My doctor, Dr. Williams, only took 30 minutes to remove the cyst and even brought it out for Mommy and Daddy to see. It looked like a little pea sized spider's egg. Crazy!

When I was waking up the nurses brought me back to Mommy and Daddy and they let me nap for a while, drink a little more apple juice for a bottle (Yummy!) and I even smiled for them. I was a little frustrated at the bandage that's on my head and everyone kept calling me Q-Tip Head. I don't know... do you think I look like a Q-Tip??

We made it home ok (I slept most of the way) and I have already had a bottle and another nap. Mommy said something about super strength Tylenol so I think I will probably sleep ok tonight. I have to keep this silly bandage on for 24 hours and than I will get Mommy to take a picture of my scar for you guys.

Thanks for all your emails and calls....I love you all.

Note from Mom: Thank you all for your support through this procedure. We felt so taken care of by our family, friends, the staff at Scottish Rite and everyone that has been praying for Lia throughout the "Tale of the Bump". We are so blessed with an angel of a daughter and she was a dream today. She has played quietly and not given us any trouble afterwards. She even smiled at us as if to say, " I'm ok Mommy and Daddy!" - what a doll. Thanks for all your continued prayers. I will update more as I have time.

Oh, and here are a few pictures I took Sunday.... thought it was worth sharing!

Christmas Tree and Lights

I took a VERY long nap this morning and while I slept Mommy and Daddy set up our Christmas Tree... I like having a tre in our living room. When I came down and had lunch I tried on the big red hat... wonder who it belongs to?

Weekend Fun

We got back from our tour of the Carolinas on Thursday and spent Friday and Saturday morning with Chris and Holly Biggs.

We went to Amicalola Falls....We climbed down from the top, but them Chris and Holly climbed back up to get the car. It was probably mean for Mommy and Daddy to make them do it, but Holly and Chris got the last laugh b/c I had a GROSS diaper waiting for Mommy and Daddy at the end of the trail... yuck.

Here's the Falls...

And the 3 of us before we knew about the diaper...

Me and my Mommy....

And one with Daddy...

Here's a picture with the Biggs...

Chris made me laugh relaly hard when he played peek-a-boo through the door. Here I am laughing at him...

Charlotte

While we were in Charlotte we got to see Mr. Wayne. I met him once before, but this time I got to meet his girlfriend, Erin. She was very nice and we enjoyed having lunch with them at Daddy's favorite sandwich place in Charlotte. (Note: sorry the photo is out of focus... my camera battery died - probably in the middle of the photo :( - maybe Wayne or Erin will send me a better one)

Here are a few pictures Mommy took while we were at Nana and Papa B's.

They have a picturesque stream in the backyard...

Here's me with Papa B...

with Nana...

And one of the whole gang...

Daddy showed everyone how I can play air guitar...

it makes me laugh so hard...

I have so many things to be thankful for! I know it's my first Thanksgiving, but I can't imagine being more blessed!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Charleston (continued)

Mommy and Daddy gave me a bath in the hotel bathtub and I loved it... my little bathtub has frogs on it and I like to try and eat them.

After my bath, I got out the Mac and watched a little Baby Einstein before bedtime.

On Tuesday we woke up and it was SNOWING! Can you believe it?!?!? It was snowing in Charleston. Mommy and Daddy didn't think we would have much fun with gail force winds, snow and sleet so they decided to head to Charlotte to see Nana and Papa B for Thanksgiving. We drove another long trip and had fun hanging out and eating well.

Mammy and Daddy even got to go on a date since Nana and Papa B offered to babysit me on Wednesday night.
Charleston

Mommy and Daddy told me that we were going on a vacation, but I think vacation just means a lot of time in my car seat! They loaded me up in the car and we drove down to Charleston. We had a nice dinner on Sunday and then had a fun day on Monday. We strolled around town and then went on a ferry ride to Fort Sumter.

Here's Daddy with me in the bunker at Fort Sumter... we are looking for enemy ships.

Mommy took some pictures for the photos class she is taking... here are a few of them that will give you a little glimpse into our day.

We also went on a carriage tour through downtown Charleston, but we didn't take any pictures b/c it was too cold. I didn't see anything much b/c they had me bundled up, but Mommy and DAddy enjoyed seeng a lot of the historic buildings in Charleston.
Ben's Birthday

My friend Ben just had his 1st birthday! Happy Birthday Ben!!!! WE got to have a very fun party and I got to meet Ben's cousins including the twins I have heard so much about - Noah and Reagan. Here are a few pictures of Ben... he wasn't so sure about his cake and only took a few bites.
