More Nashville

We got to see good friends in Nashville and here are some photo highlights...

We saw our friends the Mooneys and got to meet the newest Mooney....Paxton Davis. Paxton is about a month old and he and Lia had fun with each other....

Well, Lia had a little more fun than Paxton :)

Here is Lia with Paxton's mom, Rebecca...

Chris and Holly Biggs also came by and we visited with them...

And we stopped by to see Miss Carlee and her two kids, Ruby and Griffin. Lia especially loved watching them blow bubbles on the back porch.

Nashville Trip

It may take a few posts to get in all the details from our trip to Nashville to see family and friends last week. We had so much fun and enjoyed showing Lia off to everyone.

We went to dinner with Matt an Holly Singleton @ Amerigo's (where else?!?!?!), but I forgot my camera and didn't get a picture. :(

We visited Ma (Lia's great-grandmother) and she enjoyed seeing Lia for the first time. We were barely in the door when she said, "Get that baby out of that seat so I can hold her!"

On Saturday we went to Murfreesboro to see some of the Granstaff side of the family. Lia got to meet her cousin, Cayla...who really great with babies and enjoyed holding Lia. It seems like only yesterday that I was holding Cayla and walking around with her at famlily gatherings!

We visited with Mama Hazel (Lia's great-grandmother),

Cousins...Christi, Conan and Suzanne,

Lia's great Aunt Virginia Belle,

And Lia got to laugh a little with Roy, too!

more in a bit...
Visit with James

We had a visit from our good friend James last Thursday and Lia really enjoyed meeting him. It was great to catch up, and hear all that's been going on in his life.

The Bump

I haven't blogged about this yet - mostly b/c I didn't know what to say. But, we feel like it's time and want to be able to update you all as we have more news, so here goes....

You may or may not have noticed that Lia has a small bump on her forehead in between her eyebrows. Anyway, we have been watching it for some time now and have had an Ultrasound and then an MRI done to investigate. We saw a pediatric neurosurgeon, Dr. Boydston, to interpret the results of the MRI and here are the details....

It is a dermoid cyst which is common and can occur where the skull plates (fissures) come together. The doctor said that normally he sees them along the back of the head or the side and that one on the forehead (or midline) is less common. Thankfully, the MRI showed that the cyst has no intracranial connection and can be removed by a plastic surgeon. This will need to happen in the next few months because the cyst can continue to grow and we don't want it to impede her skull development.

In case you want to read a little more and are a WebMD junkie like me, here is a page that explains dermoid cysts in more detail. This is a term that is used for other things as well, so be careful if you search out more info... it can be misleading.

Also, here is a image from Lia's MRI. Not every baby gets an MRI in their baby book, but we have a whole CD of these pictures. It is really amazing b/c you can even see the teeth she will have in a few months.

I will continue to update the blog as we know more about the surgery, but in the meantime we are thankful for your prayers and support. We are so blessed by our happy healthy girl and visiting Children's Hospital of Atlanta several times now has affirmed what a miracle each baby is.

Excersaucer

Lia played for the first time today in the excersaucer and loved it. She LOVES to stand up anyway, so this will be perfect.

Starting Cereal

We started Cereal today (9/30) and Lia loved it. Here are a few pictures of her first meal!

Toes and Rolling over

Lia loves playing in her crib (or on the floor) with her toes. Whether it's with socks on or off she can't get enough!

And her newest trick is rolling over. Here she is in action...

New Outfits

Here are a few of Lia's newest outfits - she got dressed up from head to toe in this one to go for a walk on Wednesday night with Shae.

And this one has pockets. We are wondering what a 5 month old would carry in her pocket.....and then it came to us... Lively Links!

Tuesday's Funny Face:

(ears have been altered for effect...no, they don't stick out that much normally)

"Look at me... I can grab both of my toes. Can you do this?"

"Come here, Mommy, I want to eat your face!"

"You can keep me in this little seat now, but I'm gonna be crawling around here in no time."

"How do you like the flower in my hair? Mommy picked it when we were out at the mailbox and put it in my hair!"

"Look, No hands!"

"Ok, maybe one hand...in my mouth!"

"Hey, I can look up at you from down here now too."

Here are just a few photos of Lia on a regular day....

She loves her little seat and I caught her "reading"...

and here she is with her new trick - sucking her thumb.

Mommy and Daddy LOVE the new trick because it means that Lia has been sleeping ALL the way through the night (10 hours last night :)!!)
Nothing's better than a day together as a family! We helped our friends Chris and Kelli move into a new house this morning... ok, Brendon helped and Lia and I watched, but we had a good time. They have a lovely new home and we were glad we got to help. But, I didn't get any pictures of the action - the movers weren't in a posing mood. :)

After they unloaded we went over to Haley's house to watch the UGA game. Since we have moved to GA, we are surrounded by UGA fans and Lia's friends are no exception... So, Ben let Lia borrow his bib and we got a little picture of the three GA babies... Ben, Haley and Lia.

Lia had fun watching the game with Daddy

while I managed to catch a few shots of Ben...

and one of Lia with Haley...

Lia had so much fun that she fell out asleep until it was time to go home.

Lia has a new friend in TN! Paxton Davis Mooney was born to proud parents, Mike and Rebecca Mooney, on Sunday, August 27th. We are so excited for them...and Lia can't wait to meet Paxton in a few weeks.

We went to the doctor today and Lia did great. She weights 13lbs. 10 oz. (50th percentile) and is 24 3/4 inches long (75th percentile). She did pretty good with the shots too, but was a little sad all day. Hopefully, she will sleep it off tonight and wake up her smiley self tomorrow.

I also thought we would share a few photos with you....

I think I talked about Lia sucking her thumb now, but I caught her the other day keeping her options open....she had the pacifier in one hand and was sucking the thumb of her other hand.

"Why have one chin when you can have 2?"

Here's one of Lia with Shae. Shae works with Brendon at NP, and babysits Lia on our small group night. Lia smiles everytime she sees Shae, and loves to play with her!

Also, this week we had a visit from my friend Joelle and her son, Creek. Creek is about 2 months older than Lia, so they will be good friends. For now, Creek seemed very curious about all of Lia's hair and we caught this picture of them together.
