Baby Dedication

Well, it was an interesting weekend! About 5 minutes before Nana and Papa B knocked on our door I did something Mommy wasn't expecting... I lost my lunch. I wasn't sure what had just happened, but Mommy looked scared and it sure didn't smell too good.
I kept feeling puny on Friday night and most of the day Saturday so we don't have many good pictures of me this weekend.

Mommy did go and take pictures of Aunt Angela, Uncle Keith, and my GA cousins. Here are a few shots from their time in the park....

Mommy didn't know whether we should go to the baby dedication on Sunday, but I was feeling a little better by the afternoon so we went. I managed not to mess up the flowers on stage and even smiled when they said my name. Everyone prayed over me and I felt so special to be surrounded by my friends and family... I am a very blessed little girl!

Here is a picture of us on the stage...

And one of my friend Alex and her parents...

And here is what I looked like after the dedication... :)

Thanks again to everyone for coming and being apart of Lia's dedication... she is so blessed to be so loved! We feel incredibly blessed to be her parents and to be supported by our family and friends on this parenting journey.

Lia's Surgery

I put the details of Lia's MRI in a previous post, but wanted to update you all on her upcoming surgery. She will be having the surgery done at Scottish Rite Hospital on November 27th. It will be done by a plastic surgeon, Dr. Williams. He specializes in pediatric cranial plastic surgeon. The procedure will be done out patient and will take about 45 minutes. The doctor will go in through her eyebrow and said it will leave about an inch and a half scar. She will have it bandaged for 24 hours and then the stitches will dissolve over time.

I have tried to answer all the questions I usually get, but if you want me information, please let me know.

We will plan to update everyone after the surgery.

I'm 6 months, can you believe it?!?!?!

We went to Dr. Furr's office (my pediatrican) on Friday for my 6 month checkup. The nurse measured me and weighted me. I am 27 1/4 inches long (the 90th percentile) and 14lbs 15 ounces (the 40th percentile). Dr. Furr checked out all my new tricks and said I was getting very strong and was a very pretty baby. Then, I had to get some shots which I was not very happy about.

I have gotten over the shots though and Mommy even took some pictures of me this afternoon. Here are a few for you to enjoy!

Also, a few of you my recognize my shoes...these are the ones Mommy and Daddy used to tell everyone that I was a girl when they visited family in TX last Christmas. Can you believe they already fit? I must have big feet like my mommy :).

Pumpkins

I have no idea why you guys want to take pictures of me with these big orange things, but I'll smile anyway! :)
Mommy and Daddy

I know you have seen a LOT of pictures of me, but sometime I get to take a picture with Mommy or Daddy...

Here's one with Mommy before I spit up on my cute outfit.

And here's one with Daddy after he gave me a bath!
Yummy!

Mommy and Daddy have started feeding me solid foods and I think I like it! First, they gave me some runny cereal and I ate that til I got a little better at taking food from a spoon, but now I've got the hang of it and I'm not lookin' back.

Here are a few pictures of my new favorite foods....

sweet potatoes...

peas...

and everyone's favorite, prunes....

We had a great time and I can't wait for next time!
Jack Shroyer

We went to visit one of Lia's new friends, Jack Shroyer, a few days ago. Marc and Cara Shroyer have been friends of ours since we moved to Alpharetta and Jack was born on September 25th. Here are two pictures of Jack and Lia with Marc and Brendon...

Pumpkin Patch

Saturday we went to breakfast at J. Christopher's (yummy!!) with our small group and then went to a local pumpkin patch. Brendon had to work, but it was nice to have 8 extra sets of hands to help with Lia. Here is a picture of the breakfast bunch (from L to R) - Luke and Noelle Pederson (their son, Joshua, was there, but was asleep in his carrier when this picture was taken - you can see his feet in the bottom left), Yana and Karl Edwards, Winson and Tertia vanRensburg, Sonya and Brian Beam, and Rachel and Lia Petty.

And here is Brian holding Lia after she fell asleep after breakfast.

Lia really seemed to enjoy the pumpkin patch... there were people to watch, a hayride to take and some pumpkins. She even humored me an posed for a few pictures...
